Disgaea is one of the best games ever. you have dozens of different characters humanoids and monsters with special abilities that you can teach your top characters, theres tons of different weapons with different abilities pros and cons to it. The story is hillarious with great characters .
You can go inside the item world (inside your equipment) and level it up by killing monsters on each level and bosses. You can further upgrade your items with special monsters that are found inside items. You can build the ultimate character in order to fight the hardest monsters. This game does not end with one playthrough theres tons of different endings and side quests and ways to build characters and allies.
disgaea one is bit old now and can feel a bit grindy in comparison to newer ones. But they all have great stories and just hundreds of hours of gameplay.
