Fantastic game! You're gonna have to be ok with it basically being a walking simulator though, otherwise you probably won't enjoy it as much as I did. I also made the mistake of spoiling the story by watching videos online first, so learn from my mistakes and don't do that! As far as gameplay is concerned, you'll basically be walking around a huge house, trying to piece together the story and what's going on. From the beginning it has sort of a creepy, horror vibe going on, but it is not a horror game, and it's not actually scary! A large amount of items in the house are able to be interacted with (picked up and viewed from different angles). The vast majority of them are useless, and playing with everything you find quickly loses its luster. Thankfully, it's generally pretty obvious which items are just basic household junk, and which ones might be a little more interesting. As you hit certain checkpoints around the house, you'll get pieces of the story via spoken journal/diary entries. But that just gives you the main story. There are so many subtleties, nuances, and smaller details that can only be pieced together by exploring and checking out certain objects around the house. There are also some light puzzle elements, as some parts of the house are locked off until you figure out how to get in there. Overall, if you enjoy walking sims (or can at least tolerate them), this is a great game! The story is surprising and wonderful (if you don't spoil it for yourself like I did!). If any of this sounds interesting, give it a shot!
