very disappointed by this game. if you want an anime fighting game, it's better to stick to the dragon ball ones

The game is a fighter based game with story elements to drive it. I like the combat system which is really simple with super powers to style it up. You can't really do any fancy combo's so if you love those type of fighter games this isn't for you. I like how quirky the characters and villains are, just like in the manga and anime. This game is based on the first few volumes of the series and you play as a simple hero, working your way up the ranks until you reach S rank to fight along Saitama. Likes: There are lots of options to customize your character. It's not on the same level as MMORPG but it's plenty to get immersed in the world. There are a few fighting styles to equip and their special moves so you can do different mix ups It's fairly easy to level up so you won't be stuck grinding to get powerful enough. Side quest are fun and quirky, just like in the manga. You get to meet your favorite heroes! The dislikes The load times. You have a ton of fights, which i like, but they all take minutes to load. Going from place to place loads faster than a simple fight. Luckily there's no noticeable lag elsewhere. The map is rather small and not super detailed. The art is simple. The interface to upgrade takes a bit to get used to. It's not hindering.

As a a fan of the source material, I'm really enjoying the game so far. The graphics are great and the characters are very reminiscent of the show. The combat is serviceable but takes some getting used to if you've never played a game like this, which I hadn't. Unfortunately the online portion of this game has been terminated but there is enough single player content to keep a fan of the show interested. I would recommend OPM but only at an extreme discount.

Holy moly what an awful game from Spike Chunsoft. A budget title by every definition of the word. A lot of dumb budget anime things I can forgive in an anime title if it at least is fun - OPM is not. Not only is the combat bland, repetitive, and the AI broken and borderline unfair in certain fights, the game is littered with extremely long load times as it brings you to and from the hub town. And I have the game on an SSD! This wouldn't be so bad except you are going to be constantly seeing those load screens as you do each fight/mission, as the flow of the game is literally walk between the Hero Association Town building and the Hero Association HQ, pick which fight you want out of a menu, load screen, fight, load screen, back to the menus. And half the time the load screens are longer than the fights themselves! Really glad I waited and got this on Fanatical, I'd have been livid if I had paid the full 60$ + DLC prices for this.
