This game is a great callback to the old Panzer and Allied General games, taking what was great about them, and improving and modernizing what may have fell a little short. Despite it's age, it still holds up well enough. If you're looking for a decent turn-based WW2 game, with a focus on the Western and Soviet front, this is easily worth the price. It's not flashy, but it's well fleshed out; a lot of meat and potatoes for what you're paying.

Panzer Corps is an worthy spiritual successor of the old 5 Star General SSI series (Panzer General, Pacific General and so on). It's a turn-based strategy game, with some brutal scenarios, especially on the higher difficulties. But if you are of the genre, this game will be very enjoyable. While definitely a niche game, this might keep you occupied for a long time. The missions are well-thought, the soundtrack is adequate, though the attempt to a story remains only that: an attempt. The unit pool is rather extensive, covering almost everything: ground units (tanks, artillery, infantry, recon vehicles, AA guns, AT guns, transports) and air units (fighter aircraft, tactical bombers, strategical bombers) and even naval units (in some scenarios), For a game with a rather modest budget, Panzer Corps offers a lot of enjoyment for the fans of the genre. The Gold Edition is basically the complete edition of the game, having all the DLC's and expansions included. So buying it at the full price or in sale, it's a good deal. And from time to time, you can get it really cheap, here, on the Fanatical website (either included in a bundle, or as a single product)

Panzer Corps is a WW2 strategy game with a nostalgic retro style. The gameplay is very simplistic but not to the point that it becomes mindless. The main criticism for me is the overall janky feeling that this game has. On one hand the jankyness kinda adds to the nostalgic aspects this game has, but then again it isn't very user friendly (especially if you're not using a mouse). It is a fun strategy game to sink a few hours into here and there, but you shouldn't expect a lifechanging experience from Panzer Corps.
