About Yakuza Kiwami 2

About this game

Chronologically the third game in the series, Yakuza Kiwami 2 takes you back to Kamurocho and Sotenbori.

The Return of the Dojima Dragon

The classic action-adventure Yakuza Kiwami 2 is now on Steam PC for the first time, and it follows Kazuma Kiryu's journey as he travels to Sotenbori, Osaka to broker peace between two rival clans. After Yukio Terada, the Fifth Chairman of the Tojo Clan is assassinated, Ryuji Goda, known as the Dragon of Kansai emerges in his place to continue a war between the two clans - with only one dragon remaining.

A Modern Classic

Rebuilt from the ground up using the Dragon Engine, Yakuza Kiwami 2 offers players an enhanced visual representation and playstyle. Enjoy 4K resolution and unlocked framerates, customizable controls and robust graphics options. Additionally, fans can play fan-favourite mini-games including Cabaret Club simulator and Clan Creator or even new additions like arcade ports of Virtual On and Virtua Fighter 2.

The Majima Saga

Also new to Kiwami 2 is the 'Majima Saga' which features Goro Majima in his own playable adventure that reveals events prior to the game. Known by many names including 'Mad Dog of Shimano' and 'One-Eyed Demon', Majima offers yet more hours of exploring and fighting for players looking for an additional challenge.

"A triumphant remake of Yakuza 2, full of fun diversions and featuring one of the series' best stories."

PCGamesN

90 / 100
"Sega’s original sequel has received the remake it’s due. The story fumbles in places, but its high points allow it to sit next to Yakuza 0 as the best the series has to offer."

GameWatcher

"The way you can tell a critic liked a game is whether or not they’ll go back to it on their own accord when their review is finished. That is exactly what I’m doing with Yakuza...

impeccable addition to the Yakuza series. Fighting as Kiryu is a bit unbalanced as this entry uses the dragon engine (which IMO wasn't perfected until Lost judgement) and features Kiryu fighting against Goda's clan. If you've played at least 2 yakuza games, you owe it yourself to try this one. You have a decent amount of Yakuza plot nonsense and as always an unhealthy amount of minigames and sidequests. It's hard to find a game with so much to do at the price

You can spend most of your time in this game playing a cabaret minigame and still walk out with a great story. The combat is great, the actual narrative is fun with lots of twists and I'm sure this wont be the last Yakuza game you play, your locked in for the whole series at this point.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a fantastically remastered version of the original Yakuza 2. It carries on the quality that Yakuza Kiwami presented, and brings back a good entry in the Yakuza series.

Loved Yazuka 0 and Yakuza Kiwami 1, this is as good if not better. If you've played a Yakuza game before well then it's got all you would expect from a Yakuza game. There's more mini games and sub stories to keep you entertained. The cabaret club returns from Yakuza 0, enough said. Combat is different from the other games, now fight styles are gone, but despite what might seem at first as a downgrade I found myself enjoying the game a lot. Honestly I could go on about each point of the game, but because this is a sequel it should be easily summarized like this; If you've played and enjoyed the previous Yakuza games then buy this. If you played and didn't enjoy the previous Yakuza games then don't buy this. And finally if you've never played a Yakuza game then you should be buying either Yakuza Kiwami or Yakuza 0 first.
