About Resident Evil Requiem

About this game

Requiem for the dead. Nightmare for the living.

Prepare to escape death in a heart-stopping experience that will chill you to your core.

A new era of survival horror is coming. Technological advancements combined with the development team's depth of experience combine in a story with rich characters and gameplay that's more immersive than ever before.

Raccoon City

Return once again to the city of disaster and despair.
A midwestern city in the United States and the headquarters for the former global pharmaceutical company, Umbrella.
In the face of the zombie outbreak in 1998, the government approved a sterilization operation, a missile strike on the city in an attempt to quickly bring the situation under control—but this was swiftly covered up.

Grace Ashcroft

An intelligence analyst for the FBI who demonstrates intense focus and insight in deductive reasoning and analysis. Her mother's death shook her to the soul, making her an introvert who immerses herself in work. So she heads to the abandoned hotel alone to investigate this mysterious death.

Gameplay

Experience the series' classic survival horror through combat, investigations, puzzles, and resource management. Gameplay allows you to freely switch between first and third-person views to face the horrors in a way that suits your playstyle.

Great treat for longtime fans of the franchise

What a treat for longtime fans of the franchise. I’ve been going out of my way to play it after dark with headphones just to soak in the atmosphere, and Resident Evil Requiem is kicking off 2026 in the best possible way for survival‑horror enthusiasts. I’m only a few hours in, but it’s already clear this is shaping up to be something special for anyone who loves classic Resident Evil. The atmosphere, pacing, puzzles, and overall design feel unmistakably true to the series, nostalgic in all the right ways without feeling dated. Capcom leaned into the formula that works, and the game is stronger for it. Nothing needed reinventing, though there are some clever new touches that freshen things up. One of the standout improvements is the ability to choose between first‑person and third‑person right from the start. I’ve always preferred third‑person, and having it available immediately , rather than locked behind DLC like in some past entries makes the experience feel more respectful of player preference and far more immersive. Performance has been excellent so far: smooth, stable, and clearly well optimized. I haven’t encountered a single technical issue. Visually, the game is stunning, especially on a super‑ultrawide 32:9 display like the Samsung Neo G9 49". The sense of scale and immersion across that massive field of view is incredible, and the environments look gorgeous stretched across the screen. All in all, Resident Evil Requiem is shaping up to be another strong entry from Capcom. I am looking forward to play Pragmata next. I really enjoyed demo of that game.
