Devolver Digital has confirmed when the manic action FPS will be arriving
The classic FPS series Serious Sam is back with new enemies in a prequel to the 2011 hit - and now we've got the official release date!
Devolver Digital have announced this week that Serious Sam 4 will be releasing on September 24th, 2020. Nine years after the last instalment of the series, the story begins with humanity being under siege as Mental’s horde ravages what remains of a broken and beaten civilization.
It’s up to Sam and a misfit band of commandos to lead a resistance in order to fend off the Alien Invaders. To do this, Sam is armed with explosive, upgradable weapons, such as the brand new auto shotgun and an upgraded rocket launcher. plus a new Legion System allows the game to render hundreds of thousands of baddies onto the screen at one time.
And if smashing your way through literally 100,000’s of alien invaders is just too much fun to have by yourself, take advantage of the 4-player online co-op mode and play the action packed campaign with your friends. With primary missions and side quests to complete, there will be plenty of content to put your chainsaw launcher into!
In short, Serious Sam 4 is going to be classic shooter fun, with groundbreaking innovations to make it more manic than previous games.
The game will originally be released for Microsoft Windows and Stadia, with a release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One expected in 2021.
If the standard edition of the game isn’t quite enough of a Serious Sam fix for you, then fans will be glad to hear that they can also get their hands on the Deluxe Edition which includes:
- Exclusive classic Tommy Gun in-game weapon skin
- The original game soundtrack
- A digital art book with model renders, concept art and poster art
