The latest expansion for the 4X strategy game Stellaris has arrived, titled Overlord, it brings new mechanics to the game, and plenty of new content to fill your galaxy.
There are scattered empires across the galaxy, and while you can unite them in a beneficial relationship, there are other options. Bring their uniqueness under your command by force if necessary, because you’re the leader they deserve. Or you could negotiate, but where’s the fun in that?
If the previous origins of your glorious reign have grown tiresome, then good news because there are five new ones to choose from! Imperial Fiefdom, Slingshot to the Stars, Subterranean, Teachers of the Shroud, and Progenitor Hive. Each has their good and bad points, some grant you access to different technology trees, while others have psychic powers! Give them all a try to find out which you can make the most powerful species in the galaxy!
As you might expect, there is more to this expansion than just aliens. Create Hyper Relays to quickly reinforce your fleets. Use Quantum Catapults to react to new situations, so long as your fleet doesn’t mind a one-way trip. Orbital Rings let you show off to your subjects as well as improve the local defenses.
