Ragna the Bloodedge, a rebel that fights against the Novus Orbis Librarium (or derogatorily, “the Library”) and who has racked up the highest bounty in the world, comes to the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi to destroy the Library’s local branch. Bounty hunters and soldiers of the oppressive regime alike search Kagutsuchi for even a glimpse of the man they call “Grim Reaper,” including Ragna’s own brother, Major Jin Kisaragi. However, could there be something even darker waiting in the wings? What is the Azure Grimoire that has taken the form of Ragna’s right arm? And just what does Lieutenant Noel Vermillion have to do with all of this?
Control one of up to 12 distinct fighters and face off in high-resolution, hand-drawn 2D one-on-one duels. Each character has their own range of skills in combat and powerful Drive Attacks, like Ragna the Bloodedge, whose Soul Eater ability allows him to absorb the HP Gauge of his opponent if his attacks connect, or Arakakune, a man cursed to live as a maddened and monstrous mass of black goo by the Boundary that the Azure Grimoire draws its power from and who can curse others in order to make them susceptible to a barrage of summoned bugs and his own unpredictable arsenal of attacks.
Duke it out in gorgeous high definition in a variety of game modes. Experience the tale behind the events at Kagutsuchi in Arcade and take it a step further with Story Mode, where each character can obtain multiple endings. Crush your friends in Versus or build your skills in Training until you are ready to face off against Calamity Trigger’s toughest bout: Score Attack, where you will face off against overpowered Unlimited versions of the characters — a true test of fighting skill! Then relax after a long day of combat in Gallery, where you can watch the scenes from Story and Arcade and unlock special illustrations!
