As a fan of Lovecraftian horror, this is a must have game. Honestly it's a fairly simple walking simulator, but the story makes it worth it.

I never understood the criticism of this game. The atmosphere is Lovecraftian, visually it looks just as it should and our hero has every trait you could expect from a hero in Mythos stories. You really feel like you're there, on that island. This isn't a game for those easily scared and madness and heaviness are very palpable. As you would expect from a Lovecraftian tale, it isn't cheery so you probably shouldn't play it if you're feeling down. But if you want to experience Cthulhu Mythos, Call of Cthulhu (along with the older Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth) is the best choice.

Eldritch Horror done right

Wonderful eldritch horror! The little stat tests feel like playing the old Call of Cthulhu table top game and gives me happy retro vibes. The pc version is definitely the superior version as far as graphics and sound compared to ps4 and switch versions I'd had the opportunity to play. Definitely recommend

Very cool design and concept this game looks great but when it come to gameplay it's pretty average.

Call of Cthulhu is a mystery decision making game based on a small fishing island that utilises the mythos of Cthulhu to provide an interesting story and very atmospheric scenery. fairly short game as it took only 10 hours to beat and I'm someone who has to look at every single corner everywhere to make sure I don't miss anything the game was still quite good and worth playing. Although I did enjoy playing the game I have to admit that even knowing that there are different endings sometimes it felt like my choices didn't matter as much and the way I invested my character points felt somewhat irrelevant to most of the in game options as going down a certain path didn't really change much. The game has some replayability as you could try to focus your points a little differently and aim for a different ending. Overall this game is still worth checking out especially if you like a dark cult, Cthulhu vibe as the design of the map really delivers. The gameplay is pretty average but there is better mystery and decision making games out there.
