I think it's great that this is an open world game. It indirectly lowers the famous difficulty of the souls type games, in that you can leave the fray and level up in a more interesting way that repeating the same corridor of enemies to grind. The game isn't perfect, none of these are, but it's a great step forward to make it both more accessible for new players, and more interesting for veterans. My only gripe is that it's still as obtuse as the other FromSoft games in that certain mechanics are intentionally vague.

What an amazing game, amazing atmosphere, perfect soundtrack, so many things to do, I played 70 hours so far and haven't seen half of it yet. I was never a souls fan due to difficulty, but this one as an open world gives you the opportunity to have a nice experience.

Pretty good game, as a first souls game I'd recommend it. It's not very hard and while it may take a while to pick up, the good thing is that you can always go off and get stronger loot to fight weaker enemies you previously struggled with.
