Enemy Front, a World War II-themed first-person shooter, attempts to break away from the genre's conventions by focusing on lesser-known European battlefronts. While it shows glimpses of promise, it ultimately falls short in key aspects, resulting in a somewhat underwhelming experience.
Visually, Enemy Front presents a mixed bag. Some environments capture the gritty atmosphere of wartime Europe convincingly, offering immersive settings to explore. However, character models and animations come off as somewhat dated and uninspired. While the game's graphics don't reach the heights of more modern titles, they manage to convey a sense of the era effectively.
Sound design fares better, contributing to the game's immersion. Authentic weapon sounds and fitting music enhance the experience, making players feel like they're on the frontlines of World War II.
Gameplay in Enemy Front adheres to well-worn conventions of the first-person shooter genre. You'll find yourself engaging in standard gunfights, stealth takedowns, and sniping missions. The cover system, while functional, can be clunky at times, and enemy AI leaves room for improvement, often exhibiting predictable behavior. The limited weapon variety also hampers gameplay variety, leaving you wanting more options for tackling objectives.
One of the game's touted strengths is its narrative, which follows the journey of Robert Hawkins, a war correspondent turned resistance fighter. Unfortunately, the potential of this concept remains largely unfulfilled. The characters are underdeveloped, and Hawkins himself lacks the depth necessary for players to become emotionally invested in his journey. However, the game does introduce players to lesser-known WWII events, like the Warsaw Uprising, offering a fresh perspective on the era.
Enemy Front excels in its level design, taking players through various historically significant locations, from the streets of Warsaw to the Norwegian fjords. These diverse environments provide distinct challenges and objectives, preventing the gameplay from becoming overly repetitive.
In conclusion, Enemy Front is a serviceable WWII shooter that, despite its aspirations, fails to fully capitalize on its potential. While it occasionally immerses players in historical moments and offers a refreshing change of scenery, it falls short of the standards set by more polished titles in the genre. Enemy Front may appeal to die-hard fans of World War II shooters seeking a different...

You don't need to play a game too much to find out it stinks. This is an "old-school" FPS game, with regenerating health system, horrible AI, weird visuals, boring story and linear gameplay.
Visuals are OLD SCHOOL, because it looks like this game made in 2006... saddest part about this, that this game works with CryEngine... and it looks horrible, like how did they managed to do that? Textures loading up too late, blown up objects have weird textures, and you can see they put a fire element UNDER the blown up model, so basically not the model burning, but something under it.
Sound and music is trash. I can hear where the enemies shouting, but it sounds like they are indoor, meanwhile around me was open space. Music is repetitive.
Controls would be normal, if it wouldn't show me the XBOX buttons every time, meanwhile I play with mouse and keyboard. Okay, my controller plugged in, but why the hell it still show me those buttons, if I don't use the controller? Also, somehow I couldn't change the mouse sensitivity... like I can change it on the slide, but nothing happens.
Gameplay is boring. There is a story, which I completely lost interest because I heard the "polish" voice acting and it felt just wrong. The game have stealth elements, making distractions, taking hostages, hiding corpses, so you could be stealthy, but basically you will get to a point where you have to be in a gun fight with the enemy. Nades works horrible, auto saving is really late sometimes, game is highly scripted, AI is a no brainer. Also Multiplayer is dead.

I hoped it'd be a good WWII shooter, but it's not good at all, probably the worst I've played.

A World War Two shooter that brings something new to the table with its riveting story about the Nazi Resistance, Enemy Front is a solid first-person shooter with stealth elements.
