I was honestly pleasantly surprised with this game. The mechanics are simple and easy to understand and the campaign challenges are interesting and varied. There are a few things that made the game a little less than 5 stars, such as how you need to send your employees on trips to have them learn how to program certain game elements. It takes a long time and assumes people need to be experts in realistic survival or racing or parkour to put it in a game. It was a fun game to pick up for a weekend, but not one I'm likely to go back to.

I've put about 8 hours in to Game Dev Studio so far, and I can honestly say it was worth adding to my collection. The replay value is better than most games in my opinion and that's why I've ranked it 4 stars not 3. It's fun to build your office and hire your staff, projects can be a little hairy if you bite off more than you can chew. Promoting your games can help increase your sales, but if you overhype a game you can ruin your reputation and your sales can suffer. With Conventions and Custom Engines you can develop and sell, there is more to this game that you may think. Solid 7 out of 10.

Okay... So, I bought the game for a dollar thinking, "Screw it... it's only a dollar." I figured as long as I didn't hurt myself installing it, I was ahead of the game. Hoo, boy, was I in for a treat! This game was WAY more fun than any one dollar game should be. The night I bought it, I lost three hours to it before I even realized what was going on!
