A harder survival game with 2d graphics that will challenge you to do well or perish to it.

One of the more challenging 2d survival games out there that can make you despise it before you might start liking it, if ever. You'll have a lot of deaths and possible frustration thanks to the fact that some of these deaths come from the game having predators in places you didn't see, making it seem unfair aswell, bad rng mostly, and having to go back to the shelter you rested at last, which can mean a lot of time loss. Still, if you play your cards right, learn and improve as best as you can, risk when you know you can and are able without too much negatives, it can genuenly be an enjoyable experience overall trying to survive at the pretty much bottom of the food chain as a small slugcat. And if it does frustrate you, take a break from it, recoup and try again later, clear your head before you jump back in later on to give it a try again. It also has a story aswell surprisingly, besides the one you originally seen with wanting to find your family when starting a new campaign, which you probably won't understand till you are able to understand the beings that want to talk to you and make you be able to understand them. This doesn't mean the story becomes automatically clear to you however, if you want to learn more of it though, I recommend watching vids of it that explain it all in a more understanding manner. Overall, the game is a blast all things considered, the controls are solid, especially when you understand the different mechanics that can be used to help you survive these harsh lands better, graphics are pixelated, but have a unique feel, and the sounds and music are just right and I definetelly recommend it a ton if you into the genre and challenge it provides.

The game doesn't do much hand holding outside the start of the game. I won't say that's good, but it's better than holding your hand too much. It's a survival game, use your brains to survive, and you'll find a world with lots of lore and interesting, if sometimes aggrevating, gameplay.

A masterpiece. The art and atmosphere is exceptional. First few hours might be frustrating and hard to understand what is going on but after spending some time with it, you'll start to understand what kind of a game this is and ... it's just amazing. Explore and don't worry about death - it's a part of the experience.

According to steam the game has remote play but the game doesn't have it in the base game . You need the dlc to play co-op.
