Remnant: From the Ashes is a third-person survival action shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monstrous creatures. As one of the last remnants of humanity, you’ll set out alone or alongside up to two other players to face down hordes of deadly enemies and epic bosses, and try to carve a foothold, rebuild, and then retake what was lost.

The world has been thrown into chaos by an ancient evil from another dimension. Humanity is struggling to survive, but they possess the technology to open portals to other realms and alternate realities. They must travel through these portals to uncover the mystery of where the evil came from, scavenge resources to stay alive, and fight back to carve out a foothold for mankind to rebuild...

Explore dynamically-generated worlds that change each time you play through them, creating new maps, enemy encounters, quest opportunities, and in-world events. People have been calling this Dark Souls with guns. I couldn't disagree more. It's a near asset flip third person shooter that loves to spam trash mobs backed by a submachine gun style enemy right behind.

They told me it was Dark Souls with guns. What I got was more reminiscent of my experience with MMOs: cavernous areas sparsely populated with points of interest, combat engagements that reduce to cycling through cooldown timers, and a generally thin broth of mechanics and interaction. If I were to play it with others, it would be solely for the sake of socializing.

been eye-ing this game since it came out and it's one of the best co-op experience out there since i tried it, especially if you're a souls-like fan and enjoy 3rd person shooter games. didn't expect to sink in this much time for this game. im 90hrs in and i'm still enjoying playing co-op with gf and some friends (never tried random). mind you, it can get boring if you play solo because of its spiking difficulty and slow pace.
