Pretty good game if running around an open island collecting stuff as Sonic sounds fun. Music is fantastic as usual, and story moments can be pretty interesting, a massive narrative upgrade compared to Forces. Boss fights are absolutely a highlight with exciting setpieces, scenarios, music, etc.
Some inconsistencies (the hardest S rank and puzzle are in the first few hours of the game!) But I'd say this game is a solid time, especially for Sonic fans familiar with past plots.

The best 3D Sonic game since Generations. The jump to open world has worked surprisingly well, and exploring with Sonic’s speed is very fun. I do have a few problems with the game (like the inconsistent Cyber Space levels) but I think this will be a great foundation for Sonic’s future.

Sonic Adventure was my favorite 3D platformer along with Super Mario Galaxy. A couple of the greatest games ever and I really don't play 3D platformers. Other 3D Sonic games I just could not get into. This one is another story. As soon as I saw what was coming for this game I had a gut feeling it was going to be great. Platformer with open world and RPG elements. Oh man this game is awesome! This game and Elden Ring have restored my faith in modern gaming.

Frontiers is definitely one of the best 3D Sonic titles I've played but in comparison to other open world games, it is lacking. I had a great time with the first half of the game but the second half feels like it was rushed. Boss battles were fun, traversal was fun for the most part. The pop-in isn't too bad on PC and the cinematics were surprisingly enjoyable. But again, the last couple map areas just felt rushed and unenjoyable.
