Yakuza Kiwami is an excellent entry point into the Like a Dragon franchise for those who might find 0 too large or daunting. All of the series trappings are here, with a compelling story inspired by japanese TV dramas you've never heard of and told in well directed cutscenes, a slew of engaging (and some not so engaging) mini games, and subquests that range from poignant to humorous in tone. It all lands, even if only the narrative is stand-out on its own.

Pretty good game. I have very fond memories of the original Yakuza for PS2, and this rerelease hits in all the right spots. Very inmersive, and a good way to spend endless hours beating on people on the streets of Japan.

I absolutely LOVE this game (as well as the rest of the series). The gameplay is tight, the story is deep, yet quirky, and undeniably Japanese. It is a bit shorter in terms of overall content than the rest of the series, and notably shorter than Kiwami 2, but still more than worth the price of admission (though if you're a storyline purist you might want to start with 0 first)
