I mainly bought this game out of nostalgia. I remember playing it as a kid on my Nintendo DS Lite, running around the fields collecting flowers and killing evil samurai to free the transformed animals. It was very fun. Fast-forward 10 years, and I wanted to feel like a kid again. I bought the game, installed it on my PC, and... The port is broken. Trying to access the video settings literally freezes the whole system. Getting to Task Manager to kill the game's .exe is next to impossible. The game stutters and the FPS are unstable when you play, and you have to install OpenAL for the sound to work. I don't know what happened to Mini Ninjas for PC, but the devs messed up big time. It's playable, but don't try to change graphical settings, and get comfortable with -30FPS gameplay. I'm giving the game three stars mainly because of the nostalgia factor, but the PC port really doesn't deserve any more than two stars in my case.

I love this game, you may have a problem where the sound effects don't play, in which case you need to install OpenAL. After that everything works fine.
You can play as different heroes that you unlock in the story, each one having a different weapon while the main hero has abilities, he can even control an animal.

It's so much fun. For a game that doesn't look too great, there are a lot of different mechanics and combat functions that are well.. just fun. Personally the nostalgia of not playing it for over 7 years really adds to the experience.
