The big announcement - exciting times!

Fanatical is now part of Fandom - What you need to know

Here at Fanatical, we are delighted to announce that we are now part of Fandom - the world's largest fan platform with more than 330+ million monthly users.

This synergy will connect Fandom’s gaming fans directly with the games they already love and games they will discover among our catalog of 8,000 digital PC games, eBooks, and eLearning courses from more than 1,000 official publisher and developer partners.

Your account details will remain the same, no need to worry about your personal details, as a result of the announcement. Nothing changes.

A quick word from our Managing Director, Craig Johnson.

“Everyone here at Fanatical is thrilled to become part of the Fandom family. The synergies between our two companies are undeniable and the opportunities this acquisition presents are both incredibly exciting and vast.”

You can find the answers to most of your questions below, and we'll be updating this post with top questions from the recent Discord channel AMA. In the meantime, check out some of our super game deals and exclusive bundles available right now.

Stay safe, and keep gaming!

Questions about the Fanatical Store

Is Fanatical still going to be selling bundles?

Yes, it will be business as usual.  We will continue to offer uniquely curated bundles and will strive to offer customers new to bundle games on a regular basis

Will Fanatical start selling digital console games now?

We will continue to offer customers a wide range of products and when the time is right.  We don't have any specific details yet, but we will keep you informed.

Are all of Fanatical’s keys still going to be officially licensed (no grey keys?)

Every single key on Fanatical’s store is, and remains, 100% official and authentic!

With the scale that Fandom brings, it will help Fanatical deliver a larger portfolio of products for the future. It brings exciting opportunities to Fanatical and our customers.

We will continue to work with publishers and developers to offer the best pricing for our games and digital products.  This will not change.

Questions during our AMA

Does that mean I will get emails from Fandom?

As a result of the acquisition, Fandom and Fanatical are part of the same enterprise. As a result, you may receive emails from Fandom or Fanatical but you will have the ability to opt out of the receipt of any such emails (and if you have already opted out, we will continue to honor that opt out request).

Your details remain secure and will continue to be used only in accordance with our terms of use and privacy policy.

Is the subscription part (mentioned in WSJ article) related to Fanatical and should we expect video game related subscription offers?

We are always looking at opportunities to offer a wider choice of products to our customers. Working with the team of Fandom will help support this growth, however, we've got nothing we can announce at present. What I can say is that we have lots of exciting opportunities for the future that we're sure that you'll love.

Fandom's income seems to be completely advertisement based. How will this affect Fanatical?

We have no plans to serve third-party adverts on the Fanatical site. However, you may see advertisements for our deals popping up on the Fandom site as we look to showcase our deals to their large community.

Fandom is built around wiki communities and their gaming audience is vast. What Fanatical brings is the ability for this large gaming audience to buy the games they love and discover new games and bundles.

Will my Fandom and Fanatical accounts remain separate or will they be merged?

Your account details will remain the same, no need to worry about your personal details, as a result of the announcement.

Is Fanatical under completely new management or is it the same crew with different stakeholders?

Fanatical (Focus Multimedia) has been acquired by Fandom, but it's still the same awesome team running the show for Fanatical.

Does Fandom now have all of my customer information?

As set forth above, Fandom and Fanatical are now part of the same enterprise. However, your information will continue to be held by Fanatical in a safe and secure manner and will only be used for the purposes you’ve already agreed to.
