The game arrived as advertised. It even seems to work well on modern hardware, despite being an older title.

I played this years ago, but having it available as a steam key is super handy. Its way of having 3 wholly different styles of characters and equipment was really revolutionary when it first was released. The gameplay mostly holds up as well. If you have a steam deck you can install a 3rd party native Linux build by icculus from the time of its original release to get a bit more performance out of it as well. Default controls are a bit odd, so I do recommend tweaking them up first. And this game treats the source material a lot better than some of the later films have, so if you're a fan of Aliens or Predators it is worth a play-through!

One of AvP's strengths is the sound. First, everything sounds as it should; pulse rifle fire, Predator clicks, Alien hisses, all straight from the movies. Believe me, when you hear a cloaked Predator in the same room as you, you'll jump too. What can I say about the music except that it too is straight from the movies...literally! Yes, AvP comes with two discs, one to install the game and the other is an audio only (yup, you can pop this puppy in the ol' Discman when the mood strikes) CD with tracks straight from the movie soundtracks. More games need to do this. The controls are typical FPS standard, though AvP gives you plenty of customizable options to tweak the game to your preferences. You can edit each of the three characters controls to your liking, giving you total freedom in how you play each of the species. You are given a lot of rewards for your time playing this game; five bonus levels for each of the three characters, plus cool little cheats and the ability to play the multi-player levels as sort of mindless mini-missions. They really thought of everything here. Anyone who is a fan of FPSs (and who isn't if you own a computer) or anyone who is a fan of either series of movies, should really check this game out. I haven't been able to stop playing it since I got it, which is saying a lot since it pulled me away from two different Star Wars games.

Good but Dated

It’s a fun game for it’s time, nothing earth shattering. The controls and graphics are naturally dated but it was a fun little experience. In my opinion, as much as I love the ALIENS and Predator franchises (more ALIENS 1-3 and Predator 1-3 and Prey), there has never been a game that has blown my socks off quite like Alien Trilogy. Wish that one was more accessible.

Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000 it's a classic game. Even though it is 23 years old, the game maintains itself well and runs very well. 10/10 Must Play! Classic. I highly recommend it, especially for Alien and Predator fans.
