Smooth as butter and a great remake (remaster?) of a classic. If you like sidescrollers and you like mecha, you have no reason to pass this one up.

An interesting remake of an older title. It can be a challenge to learn, and should definitely be played with a controller.
The plot is generic anime fare, but serviceable.

You can punch other robots to pieces
Customizable loadout
Replayability for challenge hunters
Cons:
The control scheme can take a while to get used to
The way your robot moves can feel clunky and sluggish, which makes bullet hell segments very frustrating
Unskippable cutscenes
Can't restart a stage without going back to the main menu and then picking continue from there
