About Bayonetta

About this game

Developed by PlatinumGames and published by SEGA.

Bayonetta is a hack-'n'-slash title in which you'll take control of a witch named Bayonetta who awakens after 500 years of sleep with no memories of who or what she is. Developed by Hideki Kamiya, the brilliant mind behind Resident Evil and Devil May Cry's booming fame, this fan-favourite title had a fantastic release with its PC port for Steam!

500-Year Slumber

After 500 years of slumber, Bayonetta wakes up to a strange world that she does not recognise, with no prior recollection of who or what she is. Accompany her as she slowly gains recollection of her memories and learns about the two warring factions, the Umbra Witches and the Lumen Sages, and how their predicament connects to her sleep.

Genre-defining Combat

Experience Bayonetta's signature combat with fast-paced combos and fantastic abilities as you fight through the forces of light. Use her weapons, including her guns, heels, magic, and hair demons, to bring down the Angel threat. Choose between five different difficulties — Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard, and Non-Stop Infinite Climax — and use her entire arsenal, such as Wicked Weave, Torture Attacks, and Witch Time, to secure your victory!

Full Steam Support

Perfectly ported for the PC with Steam, Bayonetta takes all of Steam's features into account to make a brand-new experience: Steam achievements, Cloud save, trading cards, and experience PC-exclusive upgrades to take full advantage of the strength of a computer, with 4K resolution, anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, SSAO lighting, scalable texture and shadow quality, and much more!

Bayonetta is the best things about Devil May Cry series but extra fluid. Ton of replayability, fun and addictive.

Bayonetta, developed by PlatinumGames, is a wild and audacious action game that has carved a niche for itself in the gaming world. This game takes players on a rollercoaster of absurdity and style, offering an experience that is equal parts chaotic and exhilarating. At its core, Bayonetta is a hack-and-slash action game where you assume the role of the titular witch, Bayonetta, a stylish and powerful heroine with a penchant for gunplay and supernatural abilities. The combat system is a masterpiece, blending fluid melee attacks with gunplay and acrobatics. Timing and precision are crucial as you execute devastating combos and summon monstrous demons to obliterate your foes. The "Witch Time" mechanic, triggered by perfectly timed dodges, adds an extra layer of depth and rewards skillful play. Bayonetta's visuals are a visual spectacle. The game's art direction is eccentric and flamboyant, with character designs and environments that push the boundaries of imagination. The action unfolds at a blistering pace, and the over-the-top set pieces are a testament to PlatinumGames' creativity. The narrative is a mix of convoluted and campy, with Bayonetta's sassy attitude and the bizarre cast of characters making it a memorable and enjoyable romp. While the plot may not be the game's main draw, the charm of its characters and the absurdity of the situations they find themselves in keep you engaged. One minor drawback is the game's occasionally uneven difficulty, with some moments feeling punishingly tough. However, this only adds to the sense of accomplishment when you overcome these challenges. In conclusion, Bayonetta is a testament to unbridled creativity and exhilarating action. Its combat system, over-the-top style, and eccentric storytelling make it a unique and unforgettable experience. If you're a fan of fast-paced, stylish action games, Bayonetta is a must-play that will keep you entertained from start to finish.

Fun but tense Bayonetta looks great though it will push you to your limits with difficult gameplay if you are willing to shoot for the higher skills. In this it is still a lot of fun to play in the nearly two decades since it's first release. While the story is a bit confusing it has a few moments that make you want to see what happens to her next. The enemies are imaginative and the bosses are awe inspiring. All in all the game is well worth a try.
