Bewahre it's the German USK Version - don't buy it

It is the edited German USK version. I would never have bought them. In the store, the retailer has stated that it is the global version, which is an outright lie Caution, do not buy, the version is the German pegi version, definitely not uncut. I'll definitely never buy a Game from Fanatical again!

(Side note: While the usual German version of the game has a bit of censorship in it in terms of mutilation, etc., the copy that I got from Fanatical was the Uncut Steam version.) Honestly I love this game! While I'm usually not a fan of any type of zombie game overall, I went into Dead Island 2 with low expectations and was pretty suprised! In the first few hours you are scouring for every single viable weapon and piece of loot, while trying to hide and stay away from zombies until you get your first abilities and an overall hang of the combat systems after which you suddenly jump into battle head first (or in case of a drop kick: feet first) and mow down the undead while having an absolute blast. The addition of special type zombies gives the combat an overall polish that it would otherwise sorely need. Either you learn the enemies basic moves and find a way to counter them or they will ruin your day in one way or another. In terms of DLCs I personally think that both of the story/content expansions (Haus and SoLA) are worth the slightly higher price but I'm a bit torn on the weapons and character skins. First of all: You choose one character at the start of the game, which of course you can't change unless you start a new playthrough or join another players lobby with a different character. That means if you for example are happy that you get the bundle of Amy in the Deluxe/Gold versions of the game, but only do one playthrough with Ryan, that skin is basically worthless to you. On the other hand: The weapons are overall alright. Not too bad and also not the best. You unlock them at different points in the story, after which they are purchaseable from the new areas vendor for 0$. They are alright in terms of damage at the point you unlock them and just like all weapons you can match the weapons level to yours for a few $ to make them viable again at higher levels. But as a fair warning: Named weapons can't be scrapped or sold, meaning if you buy all of them from the vendor, you can only put them into your locker, which has a fixed amount of slots. I honestly didn't have as much fun as I had with Dead Island 2 than any other game for a long time. I finished the game within about two to three weeks of playing with a playtime of around 25h for my story + a lot of sidestory playthrough, plus about 8-10h for the DLC expansions (Haus and SoLA) and a few hours extra for 100% the game for a total playtime of 38h. Well worth the 35€ that I spent on sale! If...

Great Game, horrible there is no cross play

DI2 is my first outing with this series... Turned me on to 1 and riptide. I love these games. They are fun and in 2 I can drop kick zombies and they burst into flames... that's all it takes really. The only thing that they should have had, that absolutely everyone should have, is cross platform. In this day and age it is absolute crap to not have crossplatform play. Other than that I highly recommend.

First of all, if you wonder, yes it is still as good as Dead Island 1 and Riptide. You will destroy tons of zombies with a lot of kind of weapons, but, sadly, not enough "fun"/"stupid" weapons I think, they are too close to the common stuff we see everywhere like baseball bats, hammers, axes, etc. nothing like a frying pan for example. I think it's just the same as in Riptide if I remember well (quite a long time). Only difference is that you will play with swords and guns from start or so. About weapons some good news : durability is increased, at last ! Now you can kill dozens of zombie with a single weapon. Throwing weapons !!! Now they act like a skill, once unlocked you have an infinite amount of them, you just have a recharge time. You don't need to bother crafting 50 molotovs. ANd you can have 2 equiped at the same time. Now you know what you will get, let's go to bad sides, and there are some... 1. BUGS !!!!! Seriously some features of the game are not even working !!! You want to repair a weapon ? You keep pressing the mouse button. Fine. You want to upgrade the level of a weapon, same thing with F2 or whatever the key is (one of "F" key anyway) except... IT DOES NOT WORK ! The game think you just press it once and not keep pressing it. Same for recycling weapons, you cannot as the key is released by itself ! Meaning the game has not even been tested ! 2. No more big areas... you will have to travel from small area to small area very often... 3. Maps are way too poor. Example: you found a locked chest, on the map it will be displayed as... "locked safe" (or whatever the name is). Problem is that there are 5/6 safe on each map with specific keys, it means that when you found a key... there is no easy way to know which safe it is... 4. "Waves" event. You think it is a good and fun thing at start but at the end it is just boring as you get way too many of them for no reason other than killing zombies (and you already does that all the day). 5. Invisible walls... Like you were playing a 1990 game... Why cannot we just jumpt over walls etc ? 6. "Exploration" quest step... This is the worse thing they could have done... You are in a zone, and must find clues... In some case you must find 10 clues without knowing what to search for... Seriously ! It's an FPS where you "kill" zombies !!! Not "Zombie Myst" !!! So all these negative points give 3 stars max. I still recommend the game for those who want to break and slice zombies. :-)

Game was actually pretty decent after all the wait. Game play was good, graphics were great. Storyline is one I hope continues and we get to see the other OG player characters in a future installment. Overall to me, it was worth the wait.

This game falls short in my opinion to the original but way better then riptide and escape from dead island some of the best gore ever in a zombie game rivaled by dying light 2 the combat is alright but is a bit lacking compared to dying light 2. The environments are detailed and beautifully made
