Santa Monica has brought The Slayer of Gods right back with a brand-new look, pantheon to demolish, and weapons to wield. Players will take control of Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta, on a quest to take his late wife's ashes to the highest peak in all of the realms with his son, Atreus.

A Cinematic Experience
You might as well get the popcorn for this one, as God of War works just as great as a movie. Take control of Kratos and travel throughout Midgard, Alfheim, Muspelheim, and numerous other Nordic realms to take his wife's ashes to the highest peak in all of the realms; yet, not everything is as it seems. Despite being an older game that was an exclusive to the PlayStation platform for years, this PC port performs very well and follows a Nordic god and his son on a fascinating adventure with unique fighting mechanics that will keep you entertained the entire time. I cannot wait for the the sequel to also get its PC port.

The world is beautiful and has lots to explore, while staying linear enough to keep the player on track. Combat is fluid and exceptional, with many different combos, builds, and tactics. I'm playing on patch 1.0.1 and the only weird thing I can think of is there is no fullscreen option yet, only borderless. With that being said, I haven't been this immersed in a game and on the edge of my seat in years. I love the gameplay. I love the story. I love the graphics. It's definitely got a different vibe from the older games, but it is God of War. Buy it!
