About Gotham Knights

About this game

Gotham Knights sees you in a Gotham without a Dark Knight as Batman is dead. Rather than wallow in their loss, his protéges don their uniforms and engage in intense third-person action, from the developer behind Batman: Arkham Origins — WB Games Montréal.

Patrol the boroughs of Gotham City in solo or co-op, and prove to the criminal element that they’re a cowardly and superstitious lot.

Four of Gotham’s Finest

Take control of four members of the Bat Family; Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin as they seek to fight evil wherever it shows its ugly face. Each has their own special abilities and fighting styles, as well as a unique traversal method. You can even team up with another player and explore the open world together to utilise team-up moves and take down the bad guys hard.

Take Back the Night

Follow leads on the mysterious Court of Owls to find out what they have to do with the criminal underworld in the wake of Batman’s absence. Take on the secret society and their assassins that they’ve dubbed Talons.

Become the Knight

Working out of their clocktower base of operations known as the Belfry, you’ll have to contend with Batman’s rogues gallery such as Penguin and Mr Freeze, as well as the general criminal element and the Court of Owls. But make sure to put your own twist on things by customising your characters with new costumes and equipment.

As the Gotham Knights you may not be the hero Gotham deserves, but you’ll be the heroes it needs.

Great game, not as good as the better Arkham titles, but still fun in its own right.

Despite mid critical reception, I found myself highly enjoying Gotham Knights past the bugs (which at my current time of playing have more or less been fixed). While gameplay departs from the Arkham series in a lot of ways, the combat still feels punchy, with every attack carrying a lot of weight and making it feel really good to take on the variety of enemies the game throws at you. It also has a more RPG-centric leveling system, where you not only add new abilities with each level increase, but you unlock new gear and customization for said gear that further increases your power and style. I admit, I love putting on new costumes for the characters, and unlike other RPGs I seldom find styles I hate on the characters. Although the game does include a transmog system, which esentially allows you to place any complete outfit over your character should the gear you have not be to your tastes. To go back to gameplay, and in larger part the story, you play as one of the four titular heroes seen on the cover as you try to investigate the mystery behind Batman's death. When it comes to investigation, I personally feel it's better than the Arkham series. Where in those games you would scan an important item and Batman would explain why it was important before going back to the game, here you have to scan multiple items of interest, and then piece together which ones will continue the game. It apes a bit off the Sherlock Holmes games in that sense, but it isn't as challenging as those games, with the answer being fairly straightforward. Aside from this main story, there are also plenty of sidequests involving a handful of Batman's rogues gallery, and the storylines here are just as engaging as the main game. Personally, if they have plans for DLC, a lot could be done here with updates including new villains to tackle in Batman's absence. Overall, I've so far enjoyed my time with this game. The story is engaging, sidequests are fun, even maneuvering through the open world is a treat, and every character lpays differently amongst themselves so it provides a lot of variety and replayability. And with the inclusion of co-op, I would definitely recommend this game, despite what few shortcomings it does have.

I was very skeptical at first on purchasing the game because of all the mixed reviews. I then decided to grab a copy for myself after waiting for some patches to come out. The game is fun in my own opinion and it brings a different perspective to things. I am looking forward to more DLC's for it!!!

Amazing game that offers a lot of content. I've been playing it for 15 hours and there's still a lot to do.

While the game had a rocky start optimization-wise, I thought Gotham Knights was a fun and interactive title that's great to play with friends or alone. I feel the game should have been priced originally at $49.99, but if you can get it on sale, I recommend it!

So far so good. The ability to change characters is fun and the mechanics are refreshed from the previous Arkham games. A little clunky to get used to but you now need to think more about your combat rather than button mash. The missions are fun from an open world style.

It's lit. Red Hood is arguably one of the best supporting characters in DC, the Court of Owls is one of the best story lines, and Barbara Gordon has cakes. What more could you ask for in a game?
