In a world occupied by two kinds of 2D fighters (Capcom's and everyone else's), you have to be cut from a different kind of cloth in order to survive in this hostile environment. In development for almost three years, Guilty Gear is just that - a 2D fighter with enough originality and flavor to earn its own place in this once-dominant genre.

The gameplay and moves are sort of jarring by modern Guilty Gear standard with even X2 #Reload feeling a lot more modern, but it is still a decently fun game in and of it self. It helps that the Steam version can be run DRM free by placing a file named steam_appid.txt with "850980" (no quotes)(the Steam games ID) written inside the file. You can then ZIP the folder and install it on other computers you may have without the need for Steam. I even got it running on Linux with a Wine AppImage and it didn't require any special setup!
