About Tom Clancy's The Division

About this game

Developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.

An unforeseen pandemic sweeps across New York, and within days every basic service is unavailable. Without food or water, everything collapses into chaos... now it's up to you to save what remains of society.

In Your Hands

Now that everything is in chaos, it'll be up to you to team up with other Division agents and restore order, investigate the source of the virus, and save what's left of New York.

Be Careful

As you roam through the desolate and destroyed streets, you'll need to make use of the environment strategically during battles. Put on a gas mask to avoid getting infected, or entering contaminated areas, shield yourself using the broken city around you, and keep in mind the time of day and weather conditions!

Absolute Chaos

During a crisis, you'll see the best and the worst of humanity — while you and your squad are trying to keep society safe and rebuild the city, there are other groups trying to do the exact opposite.

Although you'll find common thugs causing chaos and taking advantage of the situation, your biggest issue will be the Cleaners and the Rikers.

The former is a hazmat-wearing group that wields flamethrowers and are dead set on purifying New York from the virus — including the people in it.

And the Rikers are a group of convicts that escaped Rikers Island when everything fell into chaos. Now they're roaming the city, ravaging and vying for its control.

Make It Yours

Customize your character, weapons, and gear! Additionally, you'll also have skills to further mold the playstyle to your liking.

Play In Team

Invite your friends to join you in the mission to return New York to normal! Enter the Dark Zone — a walled-off quarantine area smack in the middle of Manhattan — where all the best loot is. Team up and win back the city!

"Next to every good thing The Division does, there hangs a big, ugly asterisk. That same open world is barren and unengaging, combat gets bogged down with samey waves of walking...

"I don’t think it’s very good, especially if you’ve a mind to play by yourself. It’s certainly addictive, and it certainly has plenty of stuff for you to do. That goes doubly...

Pretty fun game, great atmosphere and enough to do so far! And since the Division 2 doesn't work on Linux i wanted to try this one, as i heard it did work. And it works flawlessly on Linux using Lutris!

Worth it for NYC in the snow!

Grabbed this as an add-on with a bundle not initially going in for this game, and was pleasantly surprised by it. The game still holds up and there are still players on the servers. If you like the Ubisoft formula of games, you'll probably like this! The recreation of NYC is a dream and watching the city in the snow is gorgeous.

Bought The Division at initial release, was completely max'd out within 2 weeks. Then I quit playing. With 1.8 I decided to get back into the game and wow, there is SOOO much added to this game. Thumbs up to the dev team for keeping this title going and improving the game. I love 3rd person grinders with the customization ability that this game brings. Plus beautiful graphics. My only gripe would be that as you level up, some of the enemy AI are pure bullet sponges, where 4 players can shoot 100s of rounds before dropping them.
