White Day is a first-person horror game that takes place in a Korean school at night. There are a few students to interact after closing time with dialogues that effect the story. There are dangerous psycho janitors lurking in the school, checking rooms. There are ghosts in the school too. There is lore to read, door keys and items to find, and puzzles to solve as you explore the school. The janitors can hear and see you unless you are crouching behind an object on the other side of one of the janitors. Their approach can be heard wherever you are. The player cannot defend against the janitors and the best thing to do is to run into a restroom and into an open stall. The stalls will automatically close behind you. Janitors will never look in the stall unless they see you enter it. Then wait for the janitor to leave. It can be frustrating when a janitor is lurking in an area you want to go to within these multi-floor buildings on higher difficulties. It requires waiting for them to leave an area, or by trying to trick them to leave areas by having them chase you into a restroom or a large room in a different area. They may decide to enter and explore rooms if they hear you or if the light is on. I beat the game on hard mode (it was recommended for ghost encounters) and I spent much of the game hiding from the janitors, hoping they'd move to a new area. It required patience because there was a lot of waiting for the janitors to leave an area I wanted to explore. The janitors create tension and unease throughout the game, and fright while trying to flee them. The game has multiple endings depending on your interactions with your classmates, and it has multiple difficulty levels too. I really enjoyed the story.
