About Among the Sleep - Enhanced Edition

About this game

New Enhanced Edition

Among the Sleep is an award-winning first-person horror adventure in which you play a small child searching for your mother after ominous sounds wake you up in the middle of the night.

The enhanced edition of Among the Sleep contains improved visuals, a digital art book and soundtrack integrated into the game, selectable pyjamas, enhanced puzzles and gameplay, new dialogue and a brand new museum level where you get to explore behind the scenes and experience never before seen footage and concepts cut from the released game.

About Among the Sleep

What happens when you mix a child's perspective and imagination, with the surreal nature of dreams?

Welcome to Among the Sleep, an atmospheric psychological horror game where you get to play as a two year old child.

You get to experience the world through the eyes of a toddler with a vivid imagination that could easily scare your pants off. After waking up abruptly in the middle of the night to mysterious sounds and an empty house, you reluctantly embark on your dark adventure in search of comfort.

The game explores horror through atmosphere and exploration, not with high scores and combat systems. As you explore the house from a first person perspective, you’ll be able to see your own body at all times and you will have to interact with the environment to find places to hide from the threats hiding in every shadow…

YOUR OFFICIAL AMONG THE SLEEP STEAM KEY GIVES YOU:

  • An atmospheric horror game with a dreamlike feeling of dread
  • An experience of the world through the eyes of a toddler with a vivid imagination
  • Refreshing gameplay which emphasizes exploration and immersion over combat
  • Interactive environments to find hiding places from malevolent forces

A cute and yet terrifying game with a grim backstory. Beautifully made. The narrative engulfed me. Wanted to play it again but this time I somehow was too scared to finish the game. I can only recommend it!

While the game does a great job building an atmosphere, and an interesting premise, it's rather dull in the pay off and it ends after just 2 hours, it felt as if the game hadn't even begun entirely. Plus the game wasnt that scary in the first place, as most of the times you arent in any real danger and can just wander around and because of that it feels more like a walking simulator. Story was decent, but i expected more from the game based on the amount it costs on steam.

Charming and unique.

A novel idea that is, unfortunately, held back by it's short length. That being said, Among The Sleep's unique point of view and charming graphics make it a true stand out from the crowded landscape of indie horror games. Fans of horror games should definitely consider picking this game up when it goes on a sale.

Among the Sleep - Enhanced Edition Review

Sam Jones
Staff Review
There’s an eerie feeling of helplessness that pervades Among the Sleep – you’re vulnerable, afraid and trying to make sense of the world. Critically acclaimed for its storytelling and immersive, unique experience, Eurogamer described its concept of a first-person horror told through the eyes of a two-year-old as “as intriguing as anything I’ve seen all year.”
