DEMON SLAYING
Take down enemies with your trusty Shadow Whip, Dracula’s main weapon and replacement of the Combat Cross seen in the original Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Among your arsenal are the Void Sword – which helps replenish Dracula's health while in use – as well as the Chaos Claws, which can be used to break down tough enemy defenses as well as delivering powerful attacks.

Great game. The ability to role play as a true vampire is amazing. Most of the traversal/metroidvania skills that you earn really make you feel like Dracula. The graphics hold up well for a game release in 2014. The voice acting is superb. I like how the platforming in this third-person game is less about precision (often times you auto-snap to platforms) and more about being at the right position and the right time - it takes away some of the platforming frustration often found in games using such a camera angle. The combat is fun with the ability to parry, block, dodge, and do special combos (that you earn with skill trees). Additionally the focus meter/bar adds another layer of fun complexity to the combat that rewards you for doing combos and not getting hit with tangible game benefits rather than just a score count (reminds me of the Batman Arkham games). It would be awesome to see a sequel to this game but I'm guessing that won't happen because it would have released by now.
