About this game

Whipping up a treat

Prepare to face hellish creatures in the hack n’ slash action-adventure Darksiders III. With this Deluxe Edition Steam key, players will discover the long-anticipated, third chapter in the critically-acclaimed Darksiders franchise – sending you into the dark and dangerous lands of an apocalyptic Earth. Take on the role of FURY – the most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen – in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins – and bring balance to the world.

WHIP ‘EM INTO SHAPE
Control FURY, a feisty mage who uses a combination of her spiky whip and magical powers to restore the balance between good and evil on Earth. Slice mystical enemies to pieces and collect experience points, and swing across gaping canyons to avoid a lava bath.
Harness FURY’s magic to unleash her various forms including new weapons, moves and traversal abilities.

WHAT A WORLD
Experience an open-ended, living, free-form world in which FURY moves back and forth between expansive post-apocalyptic environments to uncover secrets while advancing through the story. Explore everything from from the heights of heaven to the depths of hell, dilapidated by war and decay and overrun by nature.

PLENTY OF PUZZLES
From the center of the Earth to roaming across New York on the surface, Darksiders III features a range of fantastic, challenging puzzles to complete in order to progress. Feed bomb bugs to fuel their explosive trait, which grants players passage through fiery webs.

Solid title. Good Souls-like gateway. I've loved the Darksiders series since the first game. I seriously enjoy the subtle differences between the games. War, Death, Fury (and in a way Strife) all feel very different. Not just because of the different personalities, but also the alterations in the game mechanics and even to a small degree, Genre. I'm not a diehard souls veteran. Demon's Souls pushed me away at first. It took games like Jedi: Fallen Order, Lords of the Fallen, and the Surge to draw me back to the genre. I love the feel of this game. Controls are tight and responsive. If I get hit, it's 100% on me. Hasn't feel like the game has been cheap or lax in anyway. Sure there are tight corner ambushes, changes in tactics that throw you for a loop, etc, but that's par for the course with this. Been very happy so far. It's certainly shorter than FromSoft games, and probably only 7 real bosses (there may be secret ones or ones that pop in as a plot twist). Boss rushes are more a puzzle than combat. You need to conserve resources, but also ensure you reach the next check point. Im on the second highest difficulty (below Reckless) and it feels solid there. If you're playing right, you won't be hit. But you can have a few mistakes at that difficulty and not instantly die. Apparently there are multiple NG+s as well, but trying not to dig too much into things so I don't get spoilers. If you like Darksiders and the idea of a soulslike Darksiders game this is a total no brainer.

If you really loved Darksiders 1 and 2, then, by all means, get this game on Fanatical when it goes on sale. But if you are someone who is just looking for another open-world hack-and-slash game then I would look somewhere else. The story is pretty mediocre. The game is clearly unfinished. As you can see throughout the game unfilled textures are scattered throughout the world. This is the first time I have ever seen such a thing in a modern game. Like Dark Soul-like games the bosses can be pretty difficult. And by the time I almost got to the end of the game, I just could not be bothered to finish it.
