Tutorial felt a bit exhaustive at the beginning, but after restarting a couple of times (which was completely unnecessary), I think it's the right length. In fact, from reading stuff online, it seems a lot of people miss features and things that could be in the tutorial.
My first impressions were "what the hell, just let me dive" and after playing through some and knowing what I am doing in the restaurant, I really don't feel that way.
