Survive In America
You play as Deacon St. John, a former outlaw who now lives a life of scavenging and survival in the harsh wilderness of the Pacific Northwest. The world has been overrun by a virulent disease that turns people into mindless, feral creatures known as Freakers.

I remember playing through this game on release in April 2019 on the PS4 and while it did have it's problems it sure was a hell of a game to go through. Definitely take your time with this game it's well worth it. It's a shame that Sony will never greenlight a sequel for this game.
