It's an okay game, fun when you have a couple of friends to play with. Traversal is quite fun as long as you continue to upgrade the way you get around the world. Nighttime is scary and quite fun to run in to get your friends killed.

I have a lot of play time in Dying Light. Still playing it, as its one of the best zombie games around. Dying Lights got a large open world, weapon crafting, a customizable vehicle and so much more. There's co-op too. Techland, the developers behind Dying Light have supported this game with lots of content over the years. Check out the Hell Raid game mode, a rpg like mode where you fight through a dungeon.

The game is a great starting point of the franchise.
The story is the typical corny mega bad guy and morally grey character turning good.
Parkour traversal is the bread and butter of the game, very smooth and somewhat challenging to get sued to at first but very rewarding when mastered.
Combat is typical first-person melee combat with some gun action.
All in all a great game and a good starting point for the franchise.

This game has aged really well over the past decade, thanks to its great mechanics and immersive world.The game has a somewhat simple story which has its highs and lows, the core game remains an excellent survival horror experience. Most DLCs are kind of meh, especially "Hellraid," which is a drag to play and really buggy. However, "Dying Light: The Following" is an excellent DLC that expands the core gameplay with cars to traverse the countryside, although the build-up to the end of the DLC does feel kind of rushed.
