This game is highly addictive. I brought it on sale because I liked the artstyle and throught it looked interesting. But the game turned out to be so much more than I initialy expected! There is a surprisingly huge amount of modes you can play (apart from the "For the king" story). Each has a different map, different opponents, a different boss at the end. Even though the story in most of them is not that complex, the fighting more than makes up for it. The gameplay in general is very well done and nicely constructed. You take turn with you characters (max three) and move them across the map. the map changes as well, especially at day/night change. Many things in the game rely on luck as you "throw the dice" for how many steps you can make or how successful your attack is etc. I personaly really like the concept of it but it can be frustrating when you have a 90% chance of getting the perfect throw you need, fail and die. At the beginning the game is also very hard. The standard settings make it very difficult but that can be changed. At first it's set to be very quick paste because you have to follow the story quickly to get rid of "chaos" and don't have time to thoroughly discover hidden things on the map. With custom settings, however, you can change how often chaos comes up, which gives you more time to walk around and level up etc. Even with the changed settings the fights are challenging and rewarding. They all have their own design, own attacks, etc. I bought the game in summer sale and 4 weeks later I had already played it for over 70 hours. I find myself coming back to it over and over again, either on my own or with friends. The multiplayer works really well but the game is automatically harder because dungeons level up with the characters (it's not bad or anything just something I noticed). If you like the artstyle, and this type of turn-taking game then try it, I can definitely recommend it! Edit: After the DLC was released, the game becam emuch much harder and it is a lot less fun now, sadly.

The game is kinda boring for me. I had been putting off buying it for a while because I was on the fence and wasn't sure whether I would like it or not, but I got a good price for it. Even so, I barely played it at all. The combat is very basic, and it seems pretty hard starting off. I lost a couple times and started again and it just always felt samey (not enough "randomness" to it like I feel a rougelike should have). Furthermore, once you beat the campaign once on the hardest difficulty, I just don't see any reason to play it again. And it must be a chore to do that because the base difficulty is so high. It might be a fun game if you have exactly 2 people to play with, but I'm a loner so it wasn't so great for me.

Great DnD style game - the rougelike elements have you coming back to play more and more The multiplayer is very streamlined without any major bugs, although it can be daunting to get into the game The art and animation fits the theme and the game is just pure enjoyment. If you want a dungeon crawler game on a hexboard inspired by DnD, this is your game!
