About Gray Dawn

About this game

You will be entangled in a terrifying adventure of a priest on a quest to prove his innocence. Guilty or not, you find yourself trapped in the middle of strange events involving a demonic possession and divine apparitions.

Each time you remember the boy or hear about being accused of murder, you go into a trance fueled by fear. These moments of madness depict gore, repulsion towards God, and sometimes even the voice of the devil himself trying to convince you of things that may or may not be lies...

Gray Dawn takes place around the year 1920, in a remote village in England. Throughout the game, you will often be transported to the beautiful world of Romania, which is inspired by the mysticism of Eastern Europe.

A short horror puzzle game, puzzles aren't too difficult and the horror aspect is cool.

The game has some age to it, so when I say it's beautiful I'm not talking about my beautiful RTX reflection in the fine china on the table. Rather, there is some exceptional artwork, much of it representational of the Orthodox church. Also the architectural and area design were clearly a labor of love. The game isn't for everyone. The play style would sometimes be intuitive, but once in a while just a little annoying. I had to backtrack in several places, and even upon completing the game there was an aspect left undone. A couple of years after playing Gray Dawn there are still certain scenes and images whose beautiful impression remains.

Impressively detailed game from a Romanian developer. Rich in culture and atmosphere, Gray Dawn tells a story that is only marred by limited gameplay and mediocre to subpar voice acting, at least for the most part. The kids are doing amazing jobs and the Romanian actress gives a bone chilling performance. Puzzles are few and easy to solve, collectibles easy to find and overall it's a short experience, but one that's worth getting into if only for the impressive visuals and interesting story.
