Graphics engine is nothing to write home about, but the physics engine is superb. It almost feels like they missed a solid opportunity to make it more "arcade" -- like NFL Blitz, NBA Jam, etc. That is, it takes itself a little serious... and there are a lot of amazing racing games out there. I bought it highly discounted, and it's certainly worth the coin.

Good racing games are everywhere, good damage modelling isn't. Wreckfest takes a solid racing game with believable physics and allows you to forcibly remove any part of your car. And more than just appearance, losing or breaking pieces has a dramatic effect on handling.
I've taken a star off for the heavy focus on DLC (and they lean on it HARD), but if you can get past that then the game itself is great.
