Shadows of Rose is a fantastic DLC. Some of the moments later in the story, especially in the second chapter are genuinely wild in the best possible way, without spoiling anything. It also does a great job tying up some of the loose ends from the main campaign. The whole thing feels like it was designed for third‑person from the start, and honestly, I think it plays better that way. In contrast, the main campaign still feels like it was built around first‑person and had third‑person added later. But for Shadows of Rose alone, the Winters’ Expansion is absolutely worth it. It’s a great experience and well worth your time

I bought this as my Halloween treat and was not disappointed! I held off until 3rd-person became available with the DLC, and in my opinion, neither immersion or fear factor are in any way diminished by playing the game peering over Ethan Winters's shoulder. Performance and looks are amazing with my GeForce RTX 3070 using FidelityFX CAS. I think the weapons could sound/feel a little punchier, but that's a minor complaint—after all, should emptying a handgun clip into the undead feel terribly effective?
