About Death's Door

About this game

Developed by Acid Nerve and published by Devolver Digital.

In Death's Door, you'll take on the role of Crow as they reap souls, punch the clock, and repeat! Until one day, the soul you are meant to reap gets stolen, sending Crow on a journey to get it back. This leads them to a realm untouched by death, where creatures live endlessly and become greedy and powerful.

An Arsenal Fit for a Crow!

Use melee weapons, arrows, and even magic to defeat the wide array of seemingly immortal beasts and demigods as you follow after the thief! Although the battles are arduous and mistakes punished, the victory is sweet and rewarding.

Customise To Your Liking

Death's Door offers character stats and abilities that you can obtain and upgrade. This will help you to better tailor the battles to your style!

Meet New People

Whilst you venture far beyond the Doors and explore the untouched lands, you'll find plenty of secrets and bring hope to the phenomenally weird cast of characters!

Colossals

Throughout your journey, you'll uncover a lot of secrets: from the origins of the Doors and Crow's role to the truth behind the flow of souls. There is a lot to unpack here, and you'll do so by defeating the colossal tyrants.

Critic Reviews

90 / 100
"For the most part, Death's Door hits it out of the park and is easily a contender for indie GOTY. Fans of top-down action RPGs shouldn't hesitate to pick this one up."

I think this game is another fantastic example of a metroidvania. I would rank it up there with the Ori games for sure,I’ve had a blast playing this.

I love the souls series and souls-likes as a whole. This game is great. It has good combat, graphics, gameplay, exploration, level design, and enemy design. I really love this game.

Excellent Zelda-like indie game with satisfying combat. The combat focuses on melee as well as ranged combat (bow and later on magic), that play also a role in the puzzle segments of the game. There is kind of a back and forth gameplay regarding combat and puzzle parts which prevents either parts from being dull. The art style is great, with a focus on bright colours and lighting. Sound design is ok, nothing ground breaking, but the soundtrack on the other hand is beautiful. The combat difficulty is a bit higher than one might expect of such a game, but the music makes this a good, relaxing after-work experience, all things considered.

Game of Death's Door looked like it would be a good Indie game. Turned out to be a GREAT game instead. Tight. responsive controls and a very interesting story line. The bosses can be difficult when first encountered but aren't too hard to figure out their move set. Do yourself a favor and try this game, it's very enjoyable.
