Screen Rant

90 / 100
"All in all, Everhood is a darling of an indie game. It certainly lends more than a quick footnote to Undertale, both in terms of its atmosphere and its themes and storytelling....

Hardcore Gamer

90 / 100
"Do not under any circumstances give this one a miss: Everhood is likely to be one of the most surprising, smart and moving games to surface in 2021."

The Games Machine

90 / 100
"Everhood is simply incredible. A carnival populated by masks that have lost their humanity, a deep, rich tale, enhanced by a gameplay that mixes rhythm game, adventure and RPG....

+ ??? +/- there are a couple of somewhat interesting combat encounters, but overall it doesn't carry the gameplay (much less the entire package). During music-combat you you can only get hit around 3 times (number depends on difficulty). On its own it would make it extremely hard to win, but you get also a very quick regeneration, so you are at max life after only a couple of seconds of not getting hit. Lets just say that there are major problems with this design and I suggest to play on easy mode and just try your hardest to beat it on first try. Otherwise you may have to experience doing the same early part of encounters over and over, just to lose on the one and only spike in difficulty the boss has. That was my experience on the very first encounter +/- not a rhythm game (despite looking like one) - not an RPG (despite being advertised as such) - nor story rich either (despite everything) - very pretentious - side characters aren't developed nearly enough to care about them. And by side characters I mean all characters - pushes you towards absolutely morally vile intended ending - in the end despite focusing on <spoiler> it is instead treated as if it <spoiler>, which was disgusting

Everhood is like a child if undertale and a rythm game. And it's great. Good music, characters and art. Great fun and definitely worth the price.

Guitar Hero vibes with good story and challenging levels.

Interesting game that follows the story of a wooden Pinoccio like character with really intense "Guitar Hero" gameplay style and awesome beats. Game is really nice to play on the Steam Deck, relaxed on the sofa with headphones. The think i dislike is that the notes that you have to dodge, sometimes are really messy and you have to get hit at least once, you can change the difficulty to your liking.

Extremely enjoyable and pays well on my new steam deck. Price was nicely discounted on fanatical. Game play reminds me of the retro games from yesteryear

Everhood is a fantastic little rhythm game. Super hard battles, poignant story, cute lovable characters, what's not to like. Very much recommended.
