About MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD

About this game

It’s time to take control of a hunter and embark on a journey to the new world, as you will face behemoths sprawling open-area world for you to explore. Journey into the world alone or with friends in a four-player co-op to explore the diverse flora and fauna of this strange new land to collect resources and build up your Hunter Rank! Experience this multi-award-winning phenomenal entry to the Monster Hunter franchise published by Capcom.

A Strange New World

Adventure into an unknown world as you set forth on an adventure unlike ever before. The New World is an unexplored land for all hunters, and it is up to you — as a member of the Fifth Fleet — to provide support to the Research Commission. Face Zorah Magdaros, an Elder Dragon the size of a mountain, and help the Expedition study these powerful beasts and why they migrate to the New World every ten years when the Elder Crossing comes around.

Fight Monsters Old and New Alike

Fight against monsters varying in sizes and species, as you’ll face small creatures, such as the pack-minded Jagras, iconic monsters from the Monster Hunter franchise, such as the Rathalos, and work your way up to the gargantuan Elder Dragons, such as Behemoth. Challenges abound, both big and small, for hunters of all kinds.

Hunt Alone or Together

Hunters needn’t fight these creatures alone, as you’ll be able to embark on these journeys with up to three other friends. How to play co-op? It’s as simple as going to the mission board, choosing a Hunter Quest, and then having your friends accept the same one! Fight creatures together, build up your Hunter Rank, and work your way up to the toughest of challenges that Monster Hunter: World has in store for you.

Your Hunter, Your Loadout

With a vast selection of weapons and armour for you to equip, the possibilities are endless. Select one of 14 weapons — Long Sword, Great Sword, Dual Blades, Sword and Shield, Switch Axe, Charge Blade, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Lance, Gunlance, Insect Glaive, Bow, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun — to venture into battle and slay some of the gigantic monsters of the New World.

Craft, Fight, Upgrade, Repeat

Monster Hunter’s iconic gameplay featuring hunting for parts in order to craft and upgrade your gear is present and better than ever with Monster Hunter World! Start with beginner gear provided by the Fifth Fleet and use the resources present in the New World to create stronger and better ones to face the threats that await you. Craft items from monster parts, venture into more battles, upgrade the gear to fight even stronger foes, and then fight even stronger foes! An addictive gameplay loop.

Use Hunter’s Special Tools

Take advantage of numerous specialised tools that are fit for the job. Use traps and other contraptions to trap and snare your foes, use the Scoutflies to help you track monsters, sling yourself to safety from perilous attacks, and even take your faithful Palico into battle to assist you in battling enemies! The full Hunter loadout.

Better than the 3ds one

I’ve only played the Monster Hunter for the 3ds. This Monster Hunter is exactly what I wanted from the 3ds version.

Not Worth the Hype.

Honestly, I tried so hard to like this game, but a good few hours into it, and I find it so incredibly boring. Animations are so clunky, combat is not anywhere near as fun as I had hoped, and the graphics just feel terrible to me for a game that's only a few years old (maxed out settings with high res textures pack). I had read so many raving reviews for years for this game, and finally got it at the price I wanted it, and only to end up despising the game entirely. I will try to soak a bit more time into it just in case it gets better, but it honestly doesn't feel like it will. Also, I know Capcom is infamous for their cheesy voice acting and writing, but I didn't realize just how bad that would still be. Lastly, the plot of the game is hardly anything worth to even write about.

Im gonna be honest i bought it because i wanted to play this one, but for me with a lack of time it's kinda too hard to invest so much time to a game that demands crazy grinding. Im gonna bet if u love Dark Souls games u gonna love this one too. Demands time anyway. Still good game.

Cool weapons, cool monsters and big fights makes this game a lot of fun to play !

Monster Hunter. Well, you have to be ready because you have a ton of stuff to do in this game. It all starts by picking the right weapon for you. For me it was the switch axe. The variety of equipment is really one strong point in favor of this game. Not to mention the skill tree. Okay, so the story is awesome, really tense moments, where you feel the greatness of some big monsters, almost feels like a Shadow of colossos game. The world has some variety of biomes each one with a specific set of monsters. These monsters each one can be usefull for crafting ( Yes, there's crafting ) new and better weaponery. From the most basic ones to the big ones you'll have to adapt to your weapon and know the move set of each and particulary monster. There's also a really interesting level of "free-roam" trough each biome where you can do whatever you want. Quests and missions, investigations keeps the objectives more focused. There's A LOT OF STUFF ! You can also eat to make you feel more powerfull, it can help you during big fights. Also, yo ucan play this solo or co-op. Im playing this with a total of 50 hours and solo and it's totally playable, but it has its challenges. So give this game a try, I strongly recommend.

If you're an avid fan of JRPGs and Monster Hunter, then there's no point reading this review. Otherwise, I hope you don't like grinding for hours trying to gather materials and constantly dodge just to craft good enough gear, only to by then be too strong for the monsters you were trying to prepare yourself for. Rinse and repeat.
