About STARFIELD

About this game

It's been 25 years since fans of Bethesda got a new universe to explore, but the wait is over! In Starfield, players will explore the far reaches of space in the year 2330 as they join Constellation, the last group of space explorers looking for rare artefacts throughout the galaxy.

Always In Control

Like Bethesda's other best-selling titles, you have control. Female, male, blonde, brunette... it's all customisable! How the characters look and who they are is up to you.

Resourceful

In Starfield, the planets offer many resources to collect so that you may upgrade your gear and modify your weapons to be battle-ready for the next big fight!

Make It Yours

Characters aren't the only customisable in Starfield, as it wouldn't be a complete galactic experience without a vessel. Not only will you be able to customise the exterior and interior of your spaceship, but also upgrade it so that it's ready to take straight into real-time space combat!

The Galaxy Is Yours

Once you've made your character and readied your ship, it's time to explore the countless planets and environments available! From rocky moon surfaces to colourful and strange wildlife: Starfield invites everyone to explore the over 1,000 planets!

Decent story with weak combat and unsatisfying simulation

Matej
First impression after 1 hour: Starfield offers a narrative-driven space simulation with decent storytelling and visuals, but its combat falters due to poorly programmed AI, displaying reckless behavior and a lack of responsiveness. Spaceship combat emphasizes tactical choices, allowing players to adjust power allocation to preferred guns, but the overall experience falls short. Space travel, rather than being a real-time simulation, disappointingly involves teleporting with cutscenes, and random skirmishes occur during the journey. Exploration is hindered by empty planets beyond the main story, lacking living creatures, resources, or noteworthy sights. Starfield shines in storytelling and character customization, but exploration is lackluster and weak AI undermines the combat experience.

Starfield disappoints with an empty-feeling world, repetitive quests, and technical issues

Starfield had so much potential, but unfortunately, it falls far short of expectations. The game world feels empty and uninspired, and many quests come across as generic. Technical issues and long loading times disrupt the experience, and the gameplay lacks any real innovation. As a big Bethesda fan, I’m disappointed that Starfield doesn’t feel like the groundbreaking space RPG we were promised.

It's a disastrous gaming experience that leaves only questions and emptiness.

I finished the main quest and I don't want to start the dlc at all. It's a disastrous gaming experience that leaves only questions and emptiness. After reading Bethesda's Creative Director's Responds, I understand how hard it is to make games. It deserves my special comment. Don’t let anyone be fooled by these words. 10 / INFINITE By the way, congratulations to Starfield for winning "Most Innovative Gameplay" at the 2023 Steam Awards. Wow, it proves that gaming experience is not important.

The game is a mess. Downgraded Fallout 4. Story is boring, predictable, extremely short if you remove 20 go to X to get macguffin missions from the middle. Characters are boring, one note, cardboard cut outs (everyone is a goodie two-shoes). World is boring. No maps, even for the cities. No actual exploration (same 5 pre-made locations scattered on randomly generated maps). No freedom of movement (can't truly travel in space, can't fly in atmo, no ground vehicles, can't even swim). No freedom of choice - all quests can only be solved in one or two strictly predetermined ways (can't even kill NPCs who outright tell you they will kill you until you pass certain in dialogue triggers). Potato faced NPCs. Braindead AI that does not react to player actions. Oh, and loading screens, loading screens every 5 seconds.

Loving it so far

I am a fan of most of Bethesda's games and Starfield did not disappoint. I like the slower pace in the exploration portions, the faster shooting sections (which don't feel as arcade like as in Fallout 4), and I am still getting a handle on the dog fights in space. Overall, I will be enjoying it for quite awhile. Plus there will be mods galore, I am sure.

This is a really good game. Good story, great gameplay, good graphics as long as you use native resolution and no upscaling. Controls are spot on as well. Wasn't a huge fan of the interface for managing gear, but a mod fixed that. Many hours of fun. Easy to recommend this game.

I am absolutely hooked to this game. I have heard nothing about it and only got it since I am a huge Oblivion and Skyrim fan. If you like RPGs with lots to explore and humongous worlds - this is the right game for you!
