Metro Exodus delayed - New release period announced

The wait continues for the third instalment in the post-apocalyptic Metro series as THQ Nordic has announced today that Metro Exodus has been delayed.

The game, developed by 4A Games and based on the Metro novels by Dmitry Glukhovsky, sees players leave the dark and dangerous underground rail system seen in the first two games and embark on a continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in search of a new life in the East. Metro Exodus was due to be released in autumn 2018, but THQ's latest financial report stated that the company is "looking forward to Deep Silver's next key release, Metro Exodus, now expected in Q1 2019."

The Metro Exodus social media team posted: "We want everyone to experience the most ambitious Metro game to date at its absolute best. Therefore we've moved the release date to Q1 2019 We know this will be disappointing news for fans, but at E3 we will be revealing lots of new gameplay from a never before seen environment."

In the meantime, it's the perfect excuse to experience the first two Metro games with the Metro Redux Bundle - featuring both action first-person shooters Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, which have been remastered in the latest 4A Engine and boast two unique play styles – Spartan and Survival – plus the legendary Ranger Mode.
