AVICII Invector

Fantastic visuals, awsome music. I love it.

If you are a fan of music games that are similar to Guitar Hero, then this game may be for you. The gameplay is overall very simple, but honestly difficult to master. The songs that are in the base game are really cool, and I never heard most of them so that was a bonus. The backgrounds constantly change while playing through the game, so you will get some really nice and colorful backgrounds to look at. Playing the game on Easy makes the songs manageable, but if you bump it up to Medium, then most songs are tolerable while some become crazy hard, finally on Hard the game is just as hard as you think it would be. The only downside that I can think of is that you don't get all of the songs since some are locked behind paid dlc, but if I had the money I would totally snag those for extra playtime. This game for me is not a full price must buy, but if you can grab the game while it's on sale then you would probably not regret the purchase.

If you like Avicii's music you'll certainly have some fun here, it is entertaining. It has some of the fun of playing an instrument but without the downside that if you make a mistake or stop playing the music sounds bad or also stops. Here, besides the score, it doesn't really matter much if you're doing well or make many mistakes (turning down the sound effects volume in the options menu also helps to keep the music in the foreground). The lowest difficulty levels are really easy and should make an entry possible for everyone. If you have only the slightest musical feeling or experience I'd recommend moving up the difficutly levels quickly because there's just plainly more to do. In this game, the more challenge the more possibilities for rewarding feelings. Overall, it's a cool experience being so immersed into the music because of the moving visuals and your concetration on the upcoming buttons while intuitively feeling the rhythm. I do have some criticism as well though. - Although the visuals are trippy and immersive, sometimes the "track" bends downwards and you don't see what's coming up which feels very unfair. - In mutliplayer mode (there's only local mp) the scores of the runs aren't saved. It would be great to have a profile system where at the beginning of a session everyone can create and later choose their profile where all their scores are saved. You'll improve so much in this game that it would be very satisfying to see how your improvements are reflected in the scores over time. As it is, it's just a splitscreen with no interactions with each other on-screen and the fun comes from everyone doing the same thing. - The track list is decent and all over Avicii's career but it could be a bit longer. There are two paid DLCs which help a bit but I think they should be double the length. - The placement of the button presses sometimes feel a bit lacking. They are never badly placed but at least on the highest difficulty I often thought the same as in the headline for this review: So many missed opportunities! Really cool and unique rhythms or tonal combinations sometimes just fly by unrepresented in the gameplay. Nonetheless, despite all these criticisms I still come back to this game from time to time and play a song or two (or three). And even with the substantial lack of features in the local multiplayer mode my two lovely little sisters and I always had a great time with AVICII Invector.

the game is pretty cool, and a very fun game to play over remoteplay with a friend. The game is nice on the lower difficulties but gets very very hard when you move forward.

I got this game as a bonus when I bought another game. I enjoyed it.
