About METAL GEAR SOLID V: The Definitive Experience

About this game

Get the definitive MGSV experience with both METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES and METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN included, as well as all available DLC!

Experience two Steam PC games from one of the most popular action-adventure stealth franchises to date with METAL GEAR SOLID V: The Definitive Experience. With this Steam key, players will play as the legendary ‘Snake’ through a series of challenging missions and bizarre boss fights – while using stealth tactics and new-age gadgets to take on enemies.

METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES

Set in the 1970s, prologue Metal Gear Solid V: GROUND ZEROES sees players guide Snake (Big Boss) through an American black site in Cuba, in order to rescue Cipher agent Paz Ortega Andrade and former Sandinista child soldier Ricardo Valenciano Libre.

Featuring real-time day and night cycle, a revamped threat detection system, radical new game design and unparalleled style of presentation – players will have to analyze guard movement patterns and stealthily infiltrate the base to avoid against-the-odds gun fights.

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Once you’ve mastered the art of stealth in Ground Zeroes, it’s time to venture into 1980s Afghanistan as ‘Venom Snake’ in the expanded world of METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN. Ushering in a new era for the franchise with cutting-edge technology powered by the Fox Engine, THE PHANTOM PAIN provides players with a first-rate gaming experience with tactical freedom in open-world missions.

Set nine years after the events of GROUND ZEROES and the fall of Mother Base, Snake (now using the codename Venom Snake) awakes from a coma during The Cold War as nuclear weapons continue to shape a global crisis. In an act of revenge, Snake must create his new private army and pursue the shadow group, XOF.

Awesome game, works great on Steam Deck without any need for Proton. Haven't checked the online though so your experience may vary.

Great gameplay with fun experimental mechanics, story hard to understand (maybe unfinished),

Open ended stealth sandbox with lots of options to tackle missions, although most of the time I take the path of least resistance but experimenting with the items is fun. The story feels all over the place at times and quite hard to understand (though, it is a metal gear solid game). But if you look for it, you will find quite an elaborate story that is made even better if you played some of the other mgs games (I strongly suggest Peace Walker if you want to know why GZ happens and MGS3 to find out who Big Boss and The Boss is). But this game can also serve as a great first entry into the MGS series which, if you like it, you can play the others in the upcoming hd collections and understand the background/future of many characters. The online even extends the game by quite a lot if find yourself wanting to keep playing, though the game itself is already quite big not to mention going for 100%.

This game is another brilliant installment of the MGS franchise, they took everything we love about MGS and improved on it. The silly humor mixed with the weirdness of Kojima's games plus a lot of action-driven gameplay makes this installment the best MGS yet. with out spoiling anything if you haven't played the game yet, I was really immersed in the story which is really strange for me since all the kojima games I played felt like me riding the roller coster blindfolded, always blindsided by twists and turns but this time I followed the story step by step while sometimes going back to base just to check up on my soldiers and wrestle a few to the ground. but in the end I enjoyed all the craziness that is this game, and I think you'll do too.
