Resident Evil 4 is to put it simple, one of the best remakes I've ever played. The game has everything that was key in the original RE4, but it also surprises old school players by reimagining elements or expanding them. You can see a fresh look on the classic characters, and many of them are much more than they originally were. Lots of easter eggs and attention to detail makes this game a love letter to older fans of RE4.
If you loved the original RE4 from 2005, this remake is a must play. If you love the Resident Evil series, this remake is a must play. If you love survival horror games, this remake is a must play. If you simply love a good video game, this remake is a must play.

Capcom absolutely nailed it with this remake. They kept it feeling fresh while also delivering on expectations from the original. Controls are modern (no tank steering!) And they kept Leon's cheeky humor. Unfortunately you can't shoot the speaker thing that Salazar speaks through to make it ring in his ears, so it gets only 4 stars :p
A more serious critique is that they started faithful to the original a little too much, keeping certainly sequences that I absolutely hated, like the cabin fight & when Ashley has to turn those cranks in the water room. But those are greatly overshadowed by all the amazing improvements and additions.
