Dullness thy name is youngblood. I got the deluxe edition since you could play co-op with a friend for free. We ended up playing for like 3 hours before we got bored. There are multiple issues with it but I think the most dire is how samey the combat is, not helped at all by how every time you leave an area it repopulates with enemies. I suppose I should explain that rather than a story mission focus or open world this game works on basically a hub system, with a central base you go between missions and several districts that act as the games levels. What this means in practice however is that getting anywhere is a boring slog through areas you've already cleared like 5 times to do "missions" randomly spawned to keep you occupied. It's the worst of both worlds, and grindy to boot.

I realize that Wolfenstein Youngblood is a widely hated entry in the franchise, and it most certainly has its fair share of flaws. However, I personally thought it was a much more enjoyable game as a first person shooter than Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus was, which had terrible writing and equally bad level design to name a few. Youngblood's levels are better designed, no doubt thanks to Arkane's involvement. Youngblood fumbles by introducing tacked-on RPG mechanics which look absolutely horrible at first but their negative impact wanes very quickly as you get stronger. While Wolfenstein 2 TNC didn't make that questionable move to RPG nonsense - it translated BJ Blazkowicz' broken physical condition into 100% cover-shooting gameplay. You were immensely frail for the bulk of the game and even when your health gets doubled, you'd still die in a split second even on the so-called normal difficulty if you so much as peek out of cover. Youngblood eventually allows you to have the more balanced experience that preceded Wolf2TNC, of run-and-gun with occasional running for cover to gather yourself. As for the often criticized "cringy protagonists", I personally found BJ's twin daughters to be charming dorks - which I believe was their point. Besides, I don't think anything in Youngblood is more "cringe" than the absolutely bizarre and jarring writing that Wolfenstein 2 went with. I recommend giving Youngblood a chance.

Very good game, however would have been better with more than 2 player coop. Gameplay itself is fast paced and keeps you thinking ahead. I give it an 8.

Fine, can get some fun out of it, but regulate your expectations

Pretty fine game. Not similar to its predecessors and it has a severely lacking narrative compared to its franchise standard. The action is generally fine and technically the game has no noticeable problems. If you dont like looter-shooters in general you will generally not have the ebest of times

The game hangs my PC, which requires hard reboot. It seems that ray tracing option is causing this problem (As per steam forum). I do not have other games that hands my PC. It is not hardware problem, it is not windows problem. It is WYB problem.

Hmm, of course the game is beautiful, all such cool cars, but why was it so drastically changing the game I wanted to run and fight with all sorts of robots there for a redhead with a bow.
