Adds a massive amount of content, including new companions, the card game and a whole new region(s) to explore. This feels really well crafted, is beautiful and introduces many new things.

Great expansion, but game is sadly too easy

An expansion for ESO, which is by far one of the best ones the game has gotten since Elsweyr. Plenty of good content diving into new lore instead of rehashed Elder Scroll stories and without depending on nostalgia. The card game included is very interesting, and in my opinion it's something that the game needed for a long time now, as a built-in minigame. Sadly the collectathon part of it doesn't seem very fleshed out and leaves you wishing for more, but it's fun either way. The only reason the expansion could be seen as Mixed like steam's reviews is because of the fact the game is at the easiest point it's ever been, player power is soaring the skies while the pve content is crawling on the ground. It's way too easy to complete literally any content related to the expansion, except for the trial (raid) but I've seen plenty of people say Normal Trials are so easy there is no need for gear curation there. Alternatively, people are just upset that the new overpowered gear piece (Oakensoul Ring) got a deserved nerf after causing total chaos around the entire game's balance. In what world could a RPG full of build options that then receives an insanely powerful singular item piece (that isn't difficult to get either), strong enough to completely override other items in its tier and even overlap with "meta" sets, could possibly be called balanced? Regardless of the Oakensoul mess, the expansion is still good and the recent Lost Depths update brought the ring to a proper balance spot, even if people say it's weak now (it still overpowers all sorts of builds).

High Isle is a solid expansion on a fantastic MMO. This DLC offers a brand new storyline, a beautiful zone to explore, and a fully functional deckbuilding TCG in the game itself. All the typical trimmings that we have come to expect from every Elder Scrolls Online dlc have been added in this expansion as well, such as furniture for player housing, armor and weapon styles, new Mythic gear to go antiquing for, and two new Companion characters to level and quest with. While I enjoyed the main story quest across High Isle, I will say the side quests across the zone felt less inspired than previous expansions such as Elsweyr or Blackwood. Despite feeling meh about the narrative content of this update, I am in love with Tales of Tribute. This is the TCG that was added to the game, and it is exactly what we needed.

So far it's been a good addition. Started a new Breton character and have been progressing through the dlc story. The new companions are nice since they have been tweeked to where steeling doesn't effect companionship... At least for ember. ESO has been a fun game to pickup and run through a story line, I feel like the game really shines when you put time into listening and reading the stories. Been a fun map to explore too!
