About Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition

About this game

Developed and published by Bethesda.

In Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition, the world has fallen into a deadly, barren state after the war culminated in nuclear bombs. Now, as the sole survivor from your vault — Vault 111 — you venture off into the wasteland to find out who took your son while you were in a sleep pod.

Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition comes with:

  • Base game
  • Fallout 4 Far Harbor
  • Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop
  • Fallout 4 - Contraptions Workshop
  • Fallout 4 - Automatron
  • Fallout 4 - Wasteland Workshop
  • Fallout 4 - Nuka-World

Explore the Vast World

Fallout 4 offers a huge open world to explore, teeming with characters, quests, and locations to explore! Whether you spend your time killing ghouls and super mutants to steal their loot or you're off with one of the many factions finishing quests for them, you'll always have something to do!

It's All You!

Your character is yours to make! Create and customise them, from their gender and appearance to their S.P.E.C.I.A.L.! Choose their strengths and weaknesses, name them, and head off to experience their tragic story!

Perks and Skills

Aside from customising your vault dweller, you'll also gain experience throughout your time in the wastelands. These will give you some points you can spend on perks to even further customise yourself in this vast RPG!

Guns and Ammo

Whether you use a normal gun or a plasma one is up to you! Find all sorts of fun weapons scattered throughout these dangerous lands: from rifles and shot guns to plasma weapons, grenades, and missile launchers!

Friends Along the Way

During your journey in Fallout 4, you'll meet all kinds of characters. Some of them will be touched by your story and want to join you; you'll find robots, ghouls, and normal people will all be willing to lend you a hand!

And Then...

Maybe along the long, arduous journey, your companionship will become more than just adventuring! Some of the companions are romanceable, meaning you can make them yours!

Tourist Attraction

Although the bombs did away with most of the natural beauty of Earth, you'll still find some amazing things in this new place. Mutated animals, strange plants, glowing water, and tons of radioactive areas are all in store for you!

Look Out For Your People

Collect items throughout your journey to build up settlements for the people of the Commonwealth or even just to spruce up your home! From these seemingly random items, you'll make proper crafting materials to make anything from homes to weapons, armour, chemicals, and food!

Steam Deck

Last but not least, Fallout 4 is playable on the Steam Deck, meaning your journey through the wasteland never has to end!

A top notch Bethesda title, especially when you throw in the DLC, ive always been a fan of the fallout series and ive been playing through number four on the steamdeck which has been a hoot.

I love this game! Have it for Xbox as well and my wife and I have put 200 hours into it. Body the steam version to play on the deck. This game has some of the most addictive gameplay I've ever played. So much to do. Love the different upgrades, it makes it so you can build your character in so many different ways so each play through feels unique. Must buy!!!

Fun game, could be better, cannot hold a candle to New Vegas

It is a fun game, largely boasting shooter gameplay, but in terms of roleplay, it is far behind other games in the series. The settlements are a bit disappointing, however, the characters are quite decent. For an open world game, there is a lack of replayability owed to the ability to side with all factions for quite a while. However, as said, it is ultimately an enjoyable experience.

At this point, every review has covered this game top to bottom so there's not much to add to the discussion. The GOTY edition comes with all the DLC, which is fantastic, especially if you can grab it all at a good price. Personally, I rebought it -- probably for the millionth time -- to play on my shiny new Steam Deck. I have to say, playing titles like this anywhere anytime is about as magnificent as it gets. The best part is that you can mod the experience, just like on a standard PC. To repeat myself, you can play Fallout 4, with mods, on the Steam Deck, with very little finagling. If you're on the fence, jump over that dang thing and come to the yard with greener grass.

Post apocalyptic, raiders, ghouls, vaults and now with build your own settlements. After all these years mod support is booming which adds another element to enjoy.
