Persona 5 Royal

I usually don't like JRPGs but this has scored so well I decided to give it a try. I'm 40 hours in and love it. The game play is a mix of dungeon crawling, planning attacks, and living life as a student. The game balances these activities so well to keep the game interesting. The characters are a little tropey but fun and keep the story and relationships engaging.

I have bought this game 3 times now and I regret nothing. Playing this at 120 fps after being stuck at 30 fps since 2017 feels so good it should be illegal. And not gonna complain about getting all the DLC for free. My only problem is the price. Could've made it $60 AUD ($40 USD) since it is an old game. P4G was only $30 AUD ($20 USD) when it came out on steam and that was absolutely instrumental to it selling so well, and definitely kick-started the Persona franchises success on PC. But again, considering all the DLC which was previously sold seperately and totalled at least $50 AUD (this is a low ball figure, pretty sure it was closer to $100 AUD) is bundled with the game softens the blow a bit. Especially when you consider that when P5R first came out on PS4, to get the base game and all the DLC cost like $150 AUD all up or something ridiculous like that. I love this game, it's basically my comfort game. It got me through the worst few months of my life, and finally having it on steam is a dream come true for me. Probably the best and one of most approachable JRPG's ever aswell, definitely is in my experience. If you're on the fence about games like this please just try this one. If this doesn't sell you on them, nothing will. One of the best turn-based combat systems ever created, great characters, an excellent story, and fantastic music all culminates into one of the best games ever made.

One of my new favorite games. The story and characters are amazing and I can't believe how much fun I have playing.

I rarely buy my games at first days of release especially for single player games, but being a persona fan, this is one of the exception I will make. Have been waiting to play this game since it was out on console. I've spend about 20 hours in this game so far, and here what it feels to me: pro : - its persona : you still have the life sim and dungeon crawl. - it comes with Japanese dub : nothing against english dub actor/actress, but I'm just used to having Japanese dub and would hate it otherwise. - there is now fast travel between checkpoint of the dungeon - save anywhere as long as you're not in dungeon/citscene con : - I'm not a big fan of stealthy game, and the theme of this game you're a "phantom thief" so .... - even after playing this many hours, I feel like my character purpose in the game is so ... petty .. compare to the last 2 games. - I'm not a big fan of the soundtrack either. I generally don't care about game soundtrack, but persona 4 battle theme was the best I've ever heard, and I've played alot of game (especially JRPG). - the dungeon feels .. long ... Overall I would still recommend this game, and I still enjoy this game just because it scratch the itch I have of persona game. However, unfortunately I did not enjoy it as much as persona 4 .

Quite easily 100 hours' worth of content and stuff to do. If you played the original game, Royal greatly expands upon it and even adds additional content during times that used to be just scripted dialogue.

I absolutely LOVE Persona 5 Royal, I was a massive fan of Persona 5 & once I heard P5R was coming to PC I was so so excited. I can't wait to 100% this game.

In a word like in a thousand: Amazing. This port is finally brings Persona 5 Royal to PC in all its JRPG/DatingSim/VisualNovel glory and it worked nearly out of the box on Linux/Deck - a patch for it landed in mainline within days. I haven't been able to stop playing it.
